Saturday Morning Waffle Recipe

Happy Saturday everyone! It's the weekend! What better way to start it off than with some yummy oatmeal waffles. This recipe has been a favorite in my husbands family and my family forever and I figured it was about time to make them for us!

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup quick cooking oats

3 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups milk

6 tablespoons melted butter

2 tablespoons brown sugar

In large bowl, combine the flour, oats, baking powder, cinnamon and salt; set aside. In small bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, butter and brown sugar. Add to flour mixture; stir until blended.

Spoon mixture into heated waffle iron and sip some coffee while you wait! These waffles are super filling and the perfect Saturday morning treat! Who am I kidding.. it's the perfect treat for every morning!

I like mine topped with fruit but you could add whipped cream, chocolate syrup, the possibilities are endless!

Now off to clean house and hopefully spend a couple hours working on turning my storage room into my soon to be sewing room! What are your Saturday plans?
