Community Brew Link Up - Community

Everyone loves a good coffee date with friends. A chance to sit and have a heart to heart over a mug of your favorite drink... and I'd say a virtual coffee date is almost just as good! I was so excited for this months link up, especially when I saw that the writing prompt was community.

ecclesiates 4:9-12 @Danielle Champagne love this...maybe read at wedding?

Community is something so very special to me and I feel more than blessed to be a part of the one here. When we made the move to the south from California thirteen or so years ago we left behind our entire family. Grandparents, great grandmas, close friends... everyone. Our story on how we got here is long and the hand of God is so very evident but to make a long story short He led us to our church we are in now and have been for the last twelve years. This place is special. I've been blessed to grow up here among this group of people that I feel God hand picked just for me. It's more than just community.. It's family.

And just like family, community can be hard. In order to benefit from being a part of a community, you have to be willing to be open.. and that can be a scary thing. When you're open, people can see who you really are. They can see all your faults and flaws.. but they can also see the good in you.

I feel so extremely blessed in the area of community. To know that I have people who will stand by me and help pray me through the most difficult things that could come my way is just amazing. I'm beyond thankful for this group of people who were placed here by The Lord just for me. Community can be can be messy. It's not all a bed of roses.. but it's God ordained and it's beautiful.

"and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near."

Hebrews 10:24-25

I'm so thankful for this link up and the opportunity to share my heart and be open with this blogging community! I so look forward to sitting down with my cup of coffee and reading through all the other posts. They've blessed me time and time again and I know they will bless you too!

I’m so thankful you linked up with us! Community definitely calls for being open and that can be so hard sometimes! I’m so glad that you all are a part of a great church and how cool of a story is it that God orchestrated the whole thing! Community and family are definitely so close, and often your church community becomes a second family to you. Thank you again for joining us and sharing your heart :)

I have tears in my eyes sweet Kendra…that is it exactly. FAMILY!!!! that is community, it is family, and it is hard like family. They are relationships that require work and commitment like a marriage, and they require us to navigate messes, and sin together. To love each other in the thick of it all, and to push each other into the heart of Jesus more in the midst of it all. Thanks so much for linking up and sharing you heart! I would love to hear the story of your move from cali to the south sometime!! :)
